google scholar h-index: 45, with 10,176 citations, as of 6 Oct 2026. Excluding self-citations the h-index is 39, counted on the OpenAlex citation graph.
* indicates where I am first author; ** indicates where I am senior author; ✝ indicates graduate students/trainees mentored by me and ✤ indicates post-doc authors advised or mentored by me
My research is inherently interdisciplinary, as I study the general principles that underlie cooperation across systems, from human societies to cellular ones (including looking at cancer as a problem of cheating in multicellular bodies). This means that my publications are in a combination of psychology, biology and anthropology journals.
59Peer reviewed publications (post-tenure)
Of 59 peer reviewed papers I have published since tenure, 34 of them are papers with my students or post docs as first author, in 24 of those papers with students or post docs as first author, I am the senior author.
